If you wish to take the exam, please send me an email such that we can schedule a timeslot.

Please allocate two hours to complete the exam.
(Previously, I indicated one hour.
One hour should still be sufficient, but I decided to allow an extra hour so you do not feel stressed.
I hope this works well for everyone.)

To emphasize the intention of the exam, here are the instructions provided in the exam:

This exam is designed to assess your conceptual understanding of key topics from the Target Tracking course.
It is intended as a pen-and-paper exercise, without the use of the internet, books, or other external resources.
The hands-on exercises in the course focus on practical implementation and applying theory; this exam emphasizes reasoning and clarity.
Answers should be concise, typically no more than a few sentences per question.

Full credit will be awarded for answers that demonstrate a solid understanding of the problems and their solutions.
To pass, you must achieve at least two-thirds of the points in each category.
Submit your answers in a sealed envelope to Gustaf Hendeby within two hours of receiving the exam.
This time frame should be more than sufficient, reflecting the intended ambition level for your responses.

Scheduling these courses is always a challenge due to conflicting calendars, so I’d like to take some time tomorrow to agree on the timing for upcoming lectures.
Please remember to bring your calendars to help with scheduling.
(I’ve included some suggestions in the slides, but we’ll likely need to adjust based on availability.)

See you tomorrow!

We start off with the first lecture on September 16 at 15:15 in the Large conference room in Visionen.

During the lecture September 16 I will go through the practicalities of the course.
As part of this, we will discuss the scheduling of the remaining lectures.
The plan is to run the course at half speed, with a lecture roughly every second week, and finish sometime before Christmas.
Furthermore, I will introduce the multi-target tracking problem.

Directly following this lecture, for those that are interested, I will give a presentation on “Estimation in Information Fusion”, which I presented earlier this year at the FUSION 2025 Bootcamp.
The presentation will provide a brush-up on the preliminaries for this course.

If you have not checked out our course homepage yet, do so now:

https://mtt.edu.hendeby.se

It contains all information that you need to know about the course.
Note, not all details are set yet, and the details will evolve a bit during the course as we move along.

If this sounds interesting, please send me an email and let me know you want to attend the course.
This will ensure you receive any important future information.

We hope to see as many of you as possible in person on in two weeks!
